Birthday Wish

Good morning! How is everyone out there in blog land? I'm so enjoying this fall weather that I have been trying to find things to do outside as much as possible! Crafting has been at a minimum because of my love for fall! :) However, I did find some time last night to make a card for my MIL. It's her birthday today and she always enjoys getting cards that I've made. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LANA!!! I hope you enjoy your card!

Here it is for your viewing pleasure as well:

I might be "behind the times" a little, but I am really loving my cuttlebug embossing folders and simple cards made using them!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed week-end!

Well Behaved Women...

Good morning! I have 2 simple, but fun cards to share with you today and the story that goes with them! The story first...
I had a really big birthday party a few weeks ago (dare you to guess which one!) and my 2 wonderful, super fun cousins showed up to it and made a big scene and all. They wore sunglasses and huge hats, carried large bags and started kissing me on the cheeks and such. CRAZY! lol So, to thank them for coming up, I wanted to make them special cards. I used these darling dresses from Diane's Daydream Designs "Hang It Up" color set (I cut them out inside the black line and used some brown around the edges to give them a little aged look), some kraft card stock, ribbon, pearls, stickles and this sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set I have. It says "Well behaved women rarely make history." I thought it was perfect for their cards!
And now, the cards...

And, I thought you'd enjoy the picture of the 3 of us together...

Hope you've enjoyed! Have a blessed day!

Blogger fog and fun stuff

Good afternoon friends! I apologize for being absent for a while. So much going on in our lives and my non-digital crafting has taken a "back seat" to the other much more pressing "ordeals" in our lives. Still no baby for us, though I have lots of baby showers this month! I do have some actual cards in the making right now and so I'll have something fun to post next week.

Until then...I wanted to share some more of the journal cards you can pick up at Diane's Daydream Designs! I've been having some fun with the new sets she has in her store!

Stop by the store and pick up some of Diane's great digis & paper or even a journal card set or two!

Have a blessed day!

Digital Scrapbook Page - Contentment

Good morning, friends! Today I'm sharing with you a digital scrapbook page I made using a "journal card" from Diane's Daydream Designs and the scripture from Word Art Wednesday.

I made the journal card 5x7 size and then added the photo and mat along with the scripture. You can pick up this journal card and many other awesome digi creations from Diane's Daydream Designs! See how easy it is to make a scrapbook page and a card all at the same time using one of these little journal cards?!?
I'll be entering this in the Word Art Wednesday challenge as well, and if you want the scripture, you can pick it up on their blog.
I'm thinking that I'll make prints of it and send it to each of the other 2 ladies in the picture (who shall remain nameless at this time since I don't have their permission to post their picture again).
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day! ~H

Journal Cards

Good morning world!
I have something really special and awesome to share with you today!
These are "Journal Cards" that I've created for Diane's Daydream Designs using Beachscape Color Digis and Beachscape Papers. Aren't they fun?!?

These can be used for either digital scrapbooking  or you can print them for card making or scrapbooking or just for a little note to give to someone! There are endless possibilities! Ok, maybe I'm pushing it by saying "endless" but there are so many wonderful things you can do with them.

You can see other designs by going to Diane's Daydream Designs and clicking on the "Creative Jeans" tab. Many more are coming soon, too! If there's a set from Diane's store that you would like to see a journal card/photo mat kit made from, let me know and I'll be happy to create one!

I'll be back next week with a project or two using journal cards.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Onesies Iron Ons

I'm so in love with the idea of a monthly photo of little ones where they have a onesie on that says what month they are old! So, I'm making some for a friend who is having a little boy in August. I don't have the onesies yet, but I wanted to share with you the creation that I'm going to put on transfer paper, cause I think they are darling! They are camo! lol And I DID use purple for the boy, because the parents are K-State fans (that is why I counteracted it with lots of blue-for KU! lol)
What do you think?

(not sure what's up with the black background!)

I love designing things like this and I'm thinking of putting them in my Etsy store. Do you think anyone out there would be interested in purchasing either the design or the completed onesies? Just curious if there's a market for any of it. I'll be sure to post a photo of the onesies when I'm done.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!

We're having a baby!!!

Ok, well, WE are not HAVING a baby, but someone else is and we are bringing the little guy and his brother home FOREVER! I'm so excited! We've been praying and hoping and being patient for a little one to come into our lives through adoption and God has granted us our desire! He's also giving us an extra blessing as we're also getting a 2 1/2 year old, too! Many, many, many prayers have been said for these little guys and we can't wait to bring  them home! (or course, we have to wait for the one to decide he's ready to face this world outside the womb! lol) So, soon, I'm going to be the mommy of 3 boys!!!

While we're waiting for said little ones to be ready for us to bring home, tomorrow our oldest son graduates from high school!!! What a crazy, wonderful week this is! I can't believe how much God has chosen to bless us!

Hope you're having a blessed week as well!

Why am I MIA?

Hi, dear friends who are still reading my blog! I'm so sorry I've been MIA for about a month now! I don't think I've stepped foot in my craft room since I made that last card you saw posted! I'll be getting back to the room soon. I've been in kind of a slump, ya know? I haven't felt good and just felt down and discouraged about the slowness of the adoption process. We are approved, just waiting for a baby to find us! Also, I've been helping with our Mother/Daughter banquet at our Church and last but certainly not least of the things keeping me away.........GRADUATION! Our son is graduating high school next week! We're throwing him a big party next Saturday and it's taken months of planning and now we're in the purchasing stages and making stuff. It's going to be a ton of fun! We're so proud of him!!! He worked so hard this final year to make it happen! Yeah, Zachary!!! Here's a couple pictures of my handsome son:

Have a blessed day and hopefully, I won't be MIA much longer!

Our adoption blog

I know many of you are already follow my family's adoption blog, but I just had to share this with all of you as well...
We had our second home study visit yesterday and we're done with it and the social worker said he is recommending us for approval! We are so excited!
Our next step is to find our little one. We've chosen the "word-of-mouth" process rather than an agency process because we want to be a blessing to one person and her family rather than paying an agency to "find and match" us with someone, even though we have been approved through 2 agencies as well, if we ever choose to change our minds.
If you're interested in reading our story or following our progress or if you know of anyone in a situation where they are looking for adoptive parents for their baby, please visit our family's adoption blog: Building Our Ark: Our Journey to Adopt
Have a blessed day!

You can get this verse from the Word Art Wednesday blog if you'd like to use it in our challenge or you can enter our challenge by using an uplifting or encouraging sentiment on your creation.

This week's sponsors:

This week was a bit challenging for me. I wasn't finding a connection with the verse and a card. So after praying about it for days, I decided to make a digital creation and as I began to make it I was urged to focus on the last half of the verse "...which God hath prepared for them that love Him." My son is preparing to graduate high school and I felt led to make a scrapbook page with his senior pictures on it. I hope you enjoy!

I can't wait to see what you've created for this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge!

Good afternoon! This week we turned in the rest of our paperwork for our Adoption Home Study. We had to ask 3 peole to write reference letters for us and so I wanted to make them each a special thank you card for doing this for us. This is the first one I created. I got my inspiration from a card someone posted on pinterest, though mine looks quite a bit different.

Word Art Wednesday - Isaiah 54:17

I wanted to start off this post with the verse for this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge because it's a verse that means so much to me right now. My husband and I are trying to find a baby to adopt, we're almost approved with a completed home study (just a bit more paperwork) and each time we get to feeling good about things, something happens that puts doubt in my mind. I feel like we're being attacked for wanting to do something good, something that we feel the Lord put on our hearts to accomplish. So, this verse over the past few days has been a huge blessing to me.

Here are the details of our challenge this week:

Challenge:
Use the verse above, which you can pick up at the Word Art Wednesday blog
or use an uplifting sentiment on your creation.

Sponsor:
She's offering 2 digital collage sheets of the winner's choice!

My Creation:
I've created a wall hanging that I'm going to send to a friend who is also going through some struggles right now. I'm sending it to her with prayers that she will continue doing the good thing the Lord has asked of her and that He will bless her and give her strength during times of struggling.

The background is digital paper from Daydream Designs from the "My Heart Still Dances" collection. The flowers are from a digital scrapbook I downloaded and then I used stickles to give it some sparkle. I also "antiqued" the edges with a brown ink pad. I hope you enjoyed!

Have a blessed day!
~H
