Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #32

Good morning! Today's Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge is somewhat bittersweet for me. This is my last challenge as a member of the awesome DT. I've had the most amazing and wonderful experience working with this uber talented group of ladies. I've expanded by comfort zone by tons, I've made some new and very cherished friends and I've found a new and incredible way to share my faith in Christ. I'll still be here and will still be entering the challenges as time allows. You might even see me out there in other forums, expanding my horizions and enhancing my abilities! What you want to do, though, is keep playing at Stampin Sisters in Christ! There are some incredible things coming from this group and you will LOVE the uber talented new DT!

Here are the details of today's challenge:
Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Challenge: "Mount Up" parts of your image in layers. (Paper Tole technique)
Hostess: My dear friend, Kristine who is one of the most talented people I have ever met!Sponsor: Our Daily Bread Designs

I've taken a picture to try to show the layers of the flower and the butterflies, but what I forgot to photograph was a picture of the word "friends" which I also popped up each letter! This was a fun challenge!
I've used a large tag card from K&Co, dp by , stamps by SU, stickles & some pearls I picked up at Michaels.
This was such a fun challenge! I do hope you'll join us for this awesome challenge! I can't wait to see what you've created!
Blessings!

Golf Card

Good afternoon! Here is a card I made for a lady at work!

This card is for Lisa's dad's 80th birthday. She picked out the images and some we got from microsoft word. The golf balls are made from SU cs and I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss them, before punching them out with circle punches by Marvy. I also used my cuttlebug to cut out the # 80 for the inside. The green cs is some I had in my left over pile, as is the kraft cs I used as my base. The sentiment on the front is from a $1 stamp I bought at Michaels years ago and we printed the sentiment on the inside. Not sure if you can tell or not, but the piece with grass & # 80 pop up when the card is opened. I'm so glad Lisa loved the card!

Tonight I'm off to our Awana girls sleep over! It's a Luau party! We decorated for it last night and it's sure to be a ton of fun!

Have a great day!
Blessings!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #31

Happy Sunday morning to you! Welcome to another awesome Stampin Sisters in Christ Challege! Here are the details:

Scripture: Psalm 51:7-10 "Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness, let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spririt within me."

Challenge: Make a Clean and Simple card/project

Hostess: Our Simply Beautiful, Ceal <--She's so cool! Check out her uber awesome blog!

Sponsor: Simon Says Stamps

This challenge should have been easy for me, as I've always been more simple in my card making, but for some reason it was somewhat hard. Through the challenge, though, I did remember why I fell in love with stamping and paper! When I first started stamping & making cards, I was in, get this...grade school! My mom bought my first set of Mickey Mouse stamps when I was in only 3rd grade (and I still have a couple of them!). I've been in love ever since!

Here's what I made for this challenge:

If you like this Tilda image, you can get it at Diana's Magnolia-Licious store!

Join our challenge today! You will be so glad you did!

Here are 3 cards, each of them have a different Tilda image that I got from Magnolia-Licious!

Tell me which one is your favorite and what you like best about it, then I'll have a random drawing next Sunday(3/28/10) and send someone one of these cards and some other little goodies! Enjoy!

Stampin Sisters in Christ

Happy Sunday morning! Running with one less hour of sleep makes me CRAZY! So, lets get right to the challenge today (otherwise I might ramble about nothing all morning!lol)
Scripture: Psalm 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Challenge: Make a card/lo/project using a peaceful image or a verse about peace.

Hostess: Yeah---ME

Sponsor: Whiff of Joy; They have donated this adorable stamp of Willow reading a story

Peace. Just thinking of it makes me take a deep breath & sigh. It relaxes me. Many times when I think of peace, I picture the ocean. It's beautiful and seems peaceful and calm. Sometimes, though, it storms, and the ocean doesn't seem quite as peaceful and calm as the waves are lapping against each other. Not so peaceful looking!

This might be where we get peace confused with something else. What is peace really? There are many definitions in the dictionary, but some of them are quite confusing and don't REALLY relay what true peace is all about. Some might say that it's tranquility, much as it is when we're looking at a calm ocean, but what about when it storms? Does this mean that there is no longer peace? I don't belive so. I belive that we can have peace even amist conflict.

Nothing can remove God's peace from us. The Bible says in Isaiah 54:10 that "though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed." Peace grows as we trust in God (Romans 15:13). When we are anxious, the Bible tells us to give thanks to God and pray. Then the "peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

True peace ONLY comes from Christ. To have true peace, you must first trust in Him and accept His free gift of salvation. His perfect and only son died so that we can live forever with Him in Heaven. Have you trusted Him and accepted that free gift yet? If you have questions about this, any one of our DT members can help you find that true peace in Christ.

Belos is the "peaceful" card I created. This Sarah Kay image with her bare feet just strolling in the beauty God created for us makes me think she's walking in the Garden of Eden. And this color in the background is what the ocean looks like in some areas. It's just beautiful! The dp is from my scrap collection, the blue pearls are from Michaels and so is the sentiment. I used sheer ribbon and stickles for accent.

Have a wonderful day!

Blessings!

Cute as a Button...

This week-end we had a baby shower that we had decided the theme should be "Cute as a Button" so we've created many things having to do with buttons! Everything we've done is some sort of paper craft and so we wanted to share some of it with you!
Here's my favorite, the Button Mobile:

here is a close up of the buttons:

DP/CS is by the Paper Studio. A cricut was used to make the circles and a regular hole punch was used to make the holes for the buttons. Ribbon, tule & twine were purchased from Hobby Lobby.
We also wrapped candy bars that were adorable! And the cake! There were buttons everywhere on it! We also had little button circles to use as Bingo markers for our game. It was all so cute!
And, since this week's challenge theme for KLSNS is "Buttons" we decided to use my blog to enter one of our creations into the challenge!

My awesomely creative friends that helped with this awesome baby shower are: Kassy, Becky H., Tabitha, Becky C. & Ms. Elaine. Thanks, ladies for a wonderful shower honoring Sarah & Baby Sam.
Blessings!

Morgan's Card & a Challenge

Good evening! I wanted to get this posted before I head off to bed so I can get some rest before our busy day tomorrow! I have a baby shower and the home and garden show that my friend's shop has a huge kitchen display in. It's going to be so much fun!

This week, the challenge over at KLSNS is to follow a sketch! Those are my favorite kind! I love being creative, but I also like having a "pattern" to keep me focused. Here's a link to the KLSNS challenge if you'd like to check out the sketch and challenge guidelines. Somewhere along the way I heard there might be some prize up for grabs, too!

I made this card for a friend to give to her niece. I used Bo Bunny paper and some scraps I had in by scrap bin. The base for the card is SU, it's what I almost always use for the base of my cards. The image is from Inky Impressions (thanks Kris!). The sentiment & pearls are some that I picked up at Michaels in their $ bins. I used a bunch of stickles, too! Enjoy!
