Torn

Welcome to another wonderful Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge!

Our Beautiful Hostess:
PeggySue of Roses By My Window

The Scripture of Inspiration:
Matthew 27:51 "The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."

The Challenge:
Use torn paper technique
(just tear paper with your fingers and use it somehow on your card, but it must be torn, not cut)

Our Sponsor:
They are offering a $15 credit to their store to one random winner from our challenge!

My Card:
I've used several images from our sponsor's store. The girl is Sarah Praying (but I changed her mouth so that it looks like she is singing! My sentiment is from their Sing for Joy set, as well as the musical notes in the background and on the black torn cardstock (I used versamark ink, it's really hard to see them, though)
Be sure to check out our sponsor's site and all their adorable stamps!

I got my sketch from Sketches by Carly and will be entering this card in her challenge just as soon as I get home on Monday!

Have a blessed day!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #145

Good morning! Welcome to another wonderful Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge!
This week our lovely hostess is the amazing Linda from Lovely Linda's Craft Central!

Linda's challenge is to use something NEW on your project - meaning: anything new, a new paper, stamp, die cut, new style of card, anything new!

Our scripture this week is John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo. They are giving away 3 digital images to one random winner from our challenge this week! Digital Delights have such fun digi stamps, both b&w and colored! The images from my card today were from their Bargains & Freebies section for the month of June. They have a set of bargain images that all go together to create a scene just like the one I've used! It shows you how it will look together, and you can use the digi's to follow their example or do your own scene with the digis. I chose to use the ones already colored. Check them out! Also, check out their blog where you can see how their DT uses their images!

The "new" element of my card is the images from Digital Delights. I've teamed them up with some American Girl dp, some pearls by Basic, some ribbon from the dollar store and some stickles & glossy accents (on the popcicle) OH! I used "happy birthday" inside the flower circle that comes with a friendship sentiment, cause this card is for my niece for her 14th birthday. Hope you enjoy my card today as well as Linda's devotion on the Stampin Sisters in Christ blog!

Have a blessed week!

Kick Up Your Hooves!

Good morning! It's time for another awesome challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ, so let's get started!

Hostess:
The most fun girl, Jerusha

Scripture:
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Challenge:
Create something that reflects you - you are God's masterpiece!

Sponsor:
Clear Dollar Stamps - They have such fun stamps and they even have some in digi, too! Be sure to stop by and let them know how awesome they are for sponsoring SSiC this week!

My Card:
I've wanted this stamp for a long time, and since Clear Dollar is our sponsor this week, I wanted to support them, so I bought it! She's called Charlene Cowgirl. She comes with this sentiment and a few other sentiments as well as cowboy boots and horseshoes and swirls. I used the cowboy boots to put on her hoofs. Aren't they adorable?!? Jerusha wanted us to make something that is "us" so I kept it simple, used lots of stickles, used a variety of colors and tried to make it colorful and bright. My name means "light" so I wanted to encorporate the color yellow to show some light. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Father's Day to any dad's checking in! Have a blessed day!

Stampin Sisters in Christ - Challenge #142

Good morning! What a wonderful day for a stamping challenge, don't you think? Well, today at Stampin Sisters in Christ I get to be your challenge hostess! It's my first one since joining the team a couple months ago and I'm so excited to share with you what the Lord has laid on my heart! Let's get started!
Vesrse:
1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other, let us show the truth by our actions" NLT
Challenge:
1) image showing action OR 2) an image only on the front of your card (no sentiment on the front) OR 3) action card (make it move)

Sponsor:
OH, they have such adorable images! Stop by and thank them for sponsoring us this week!
Some words from my heart to yours:
We’ve all heard the phrase “actions speak louder than words” and we all know what it means. But how do we take that old, over used phrase that has probably lost it’s meaning along the way and make it really apply to our lives today? My husband’s good friend/mentor and Best Selling Author, Tim Marks rephrases it a little differently. He says “What you do speaks so loudly, what you say I cannot hear.” It’s so true! If we punch someone in the face and at the same time say “I love you” our words are meaningless because we’ve just hurt the person with our actions! We’re commanded to share Christ’s love with others and this means more than just “lip service.” We have to do this with our actions, our service toward one another. How we treat people says a whole lot more about Christ than words alone. Take some time today to do something for someone to show them how much you love them. Send them a card, pick up their shoes & put them away, help them carry in groceries, bring them a nice cold drink on these hot days, be available for them when they need a helping hand or ear to listen, anything that says “I love you.” Let’s love with our actions and not just our words.
And, finally, my card:
I've used an image from our wonderful sponsor this week called Cool Waitress. Isn't she so much fun?!? Just look at her on those skates and she's serving with a smile!  You can't see it, but I put her on a "wobble" so when you tap her, she shakes. It's kind of fun to watch. I'll try to get photos of it to share next week. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!
